Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in masonry, carpentry, or related trades to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment. Applicants must be committed to safety, precision, and efficiency, contributing to the successful completion of various building projects.

Responsibilities

Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using hand tools and power tools
Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to plaster application
Mixing plaster to the correct consistency and colour matching existing finishes when necessary
Repairing damaged surfaces and patching holes or cracks before plastering
Operating machinery such as mixers and scaffolding safely and effectively
Collaborating with bricklayers, masons, carpenters, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project progress
Maintaining a clean and organised work area at all times
Adhering to health and safety regulations on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

Proven experience in plastering or related trades such as masonry or carpentry
Proficiency with hand tools including trowels, hawks, and floats
Experience with power tools used in plastering and surface preparation
Knowledge of bricklaying, roofing, welding, and general masonry is advantageous
Ability to operate machinery such as mixers and scaffolding safely
Strong attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes
Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction trades are preferred but not essential
