Due to continued business growth, Orchard Green is seeking an experienced and motivated Fleet Engineer to lead our workshop team and oversee the maintenance of our expanding transport fleet across Yorkshire.

The Role
As Fleet Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the servicing, maintenance, inspection, diagnostics, and repair of our fleet, ensuring all vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant, and operational.
You will lead a small team of technicians while maintaining high workshop standards and supporting the continued growth of our transport operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of workshop technicians
- Carry out and oversee routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs, trailers, and associated equipment
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
- Conduct vehicle inspections, safety checks, and compliance assessments
- Ensure all maintenance records and documentation are completed accurately
- Maintain workshop health and safety standards
- Support fleet availability and operational efficiency
Essential Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience working with HGVs
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- Proven mechanical knowledge and technical expertise
- Ability to work independently and lead a small team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Reliable, motivated, and professional approach
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant HGV, mechanical, engineering, or transport qualifications
- Experience managing workshop operations or leading a maintenance team
