Full job description

· Competent in using thermal cutting techniques.

· Understanding of fabrication skills and techniques, for various metal types.

· Understanding and ability to read fabrication drawings

· Fabricating and welding experience in a similar role.

· Competent multi-disciplined welder, i.e. MIG/MAG, FCAW, stick & MMA

· Coded welders to BSEN287 or similar are preferable, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience

· Ability to handle heavier components with mechanical aids/cranes (valid crane operator licence is preferable).

· Perform tasks in varied environments, predominately workshop/workbench based, however elements of working outside, working at height and /or in confined spaces may be required.

· Safe operation of lifting equipment, cranes, and slinging of items.

· Safe and efficient operation of hand tooling, power tools and other machines.

· Ability to adhere to good housekeeping practices and maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work area.

· Ability to adhere to all company policies, including Health and Safety and PPE

· A positive attitude towards health and safety

· Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the company

· Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a small team

· Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to overcome technical challenges.

· Willingness to work overtime and weekends as per business requirements.

· You must be physically fit and able to work at heights

Preferential Requirements

· C&G or similar in fabrication and/or welding.

· Current forklift truck licence, abrasive wheels training and vibration awareness training.

· Any safety passports or risk assessment or safety training received.

· A current UK driving licence.

With this position, the following will be provided

· Corporate Branded Workwear

· Corporate Branded Overalls

· High-Quality PPE including hard hat, boots, etc.

· Specialist Tools Provided

· Ongoing skills development and certified training.

The basic working week comprises 40 hours Monday to Friday with regular premium rate overtime available. Regular Saturday and Sunday working is expected as part of the role and all overtime is paid at the rate of x 1.5 of the basic rate.
