Full job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong finance skills and a keen eye for detail to support the day-to-day financial operations of our business.

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the wider operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
Producing sales invoices accurately and efficiently
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Assisting with credit control processes.
Preparing and processing payments.
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems.
Liaising with our external accountants and assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Supporting payroll administration where required.
Responding to supplier and customer account queries.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or bookkeeping role.
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures within a small business.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small close knit office team.

Desirable

Experience using Quickbooks accounting software
Experience with the construction, maintenance or trades industries
