The Business

It is an exciting time to join LNT. We are the UK’s largest care home developer and care home commissioning group, with a significant history within the care home development and care operating sectors.

Over a 30+ year period, the group has provided over 17,000 care beds to the UK market and developed more than 250 care homes. The group is in a period of rapid expansion, scaling up to build and operate 30 care homes a year.

The group is a vertically integrated care home constructor/developer and software provider, operating a fast growing portfolio of care homes under the Crystal Care brand name.

The Finance Team

The LNT finance function has grown considerably over the last 5 years, to a headcount of c.45 people across all disciplines and divisions.

The finance function is led by the Group Finance Director and is split into 3 main teams – construction, care opco and the group team.

As part of the people agenda, the LNT Finance Talent Academy was launched in 2023, providing a structured pathway & tailored experience for the right individuals to develop & progress their careers in the business.

LNT is also an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer.

The Role

This is a key role within the group, where the post holder will assist the Group Accountant in maintaining and preparing key financial information.

The role offers the opportunity to build a good understanding of basic accounting principles and controls and to be part of a fast-growing Yorkshire based entrepreneurial business.

Key responsibilities

The position will have responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

Support the preparation and submission of monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns
Maintain accurate and organised filing systems to support compliance requirements
Prepare monthly management information for a number of SPV/development entities
Process purchase and inter-company sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Perform regular bank reconciliations
Raise payments through the online banking system
Prepare summaries of bank balances to support group cashflow projections
Reconcile intercompany balances across group entities
Prepare VAT returns
Obtaining and reconciling supplier statements
Assist in maintaining interest schedules to track the group’s debt
Provide ad hoc support to the business’ key stakeholders as required

Requirements:

Suitable for a new entry into accounting or an AAT trainee
Strong desire to work with a dynamic and fast-growing business
Demonstrates a proactive attitude and a strong willingness to learn
Personable and able to work as a team
Foundational understanding of accounting principles appreciated but not required
Comfortable in a collegiate, open and meritocratic environment
Is prepared to be office based in Garforth (East Leeds) full time
