*Job Title:* Cast Stone Operative (Caster)

*Location:* Garforth, Leeds

*Company:* Newlay Cast Stone T/as Procter Cast Stone

*Job Type:* Full-Time

*Salary:*Between £13.00- £14.50 per hour plus bonus & overtime (depending on experience). The pay rate will be reviewed within 6 months of employment.

The role requires early starts 5am and applicants must live within a 30 minute travel radius.

Procter Cast Stone is a leading provider of high-quality architectural stone products. Our commitment to craftsmanship and excellence has established us as a trusted name in the industry. Over the last 3 years our business has changed considerably and to keep up with the high demand for our cast stone products we require an additional production operative to work as part of a team of 2.

*Job Description:*

As a Cast Stone Operative, you will play a critical role in the production of cast stone products, ensuring that each piece meets our high standards for quality and craftsmanship. Your attention to detail, technical skills, and ability to work efficiently will be key to your success in this role.

*Key Responsibilities:*

- *Mould Preparation:* Prepare moulds for casting.

- *Casting:* Fill and compact the mixture into moulds, ensuring even distribution.

- *Finishing:* Smooth and finish surfaces using various tools and techniques to achieve the desired texture and appearance.

- *Place completed items into the curing chamber to be cured overnight. Remove all items the following morning.

- *Quality Control:* Inspect finished products you have manufactured the previous day for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before packaging and shipping.

- *Maintenance:* Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner.

- *Safety:* Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

*Qualifications:*

- Previous experience in cast stone production or a related field would be an advantage.

- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing materials.
