Now, we’re looking for a skilled Automotive Technician to join our friendly, supportive Service Team.

Roles & responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the work of automotive technicians (e.g. assigning jobs based on skill levels and workload)
- Train new hires on shop procedures, safety protocols, and manufacturer-specific repair techniques
- Provide feedback and address issues
- Foster a productive team environment, resolving conflicts and motivating staff to meet deadlines
Workflow and Operations Management
- Prioritize repair jobs to optimize bay usage and minimize vehicle turnaround time
- Monitor workflow to ensure repairs are completed on time and within estimated hours
- Coordinate with the Service team to order and track necessary parts and components
- Oversee shop maintenance, including tool calibration, equipment upkeep, and inventory management
Quality Control and Technical Oversight
- Inspect completed repairs (when appropriate) for accuracy, compliance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose complex issues when technicians need assistance, using diagnostic tools and software
- Ensure all work adheres to warranty requirements, emissions standards, and safety regulations
- Review and approve repair orders, estimates, and invoices for technical accuracy before customer delivery.
Customer and Administrative Duties
- Ensure adequate communication is sustained between the workshop and Service team regarding repair progress, additional findings, and recommendations
- Offer appropriate resolutions for any customer complaints related to repair quality or delays
- Oversee the correct use of documentation e.g. service books/sheets
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and hazardous material handling
- Oversee the correct process of waste disposal for oils and fluids
- Stay updated on industry changes, such as new vehicle technologies
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified Automotive Technician (minimum Level 3)
- MOT testing ability preferred but not essential
- Hybrid & Electric Vehicle experience & qualifications preferred but not essential
- Land Rover / 4x4 experience preferred but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using modern diagnostic systems and workshop technology
- A team-focused attitude with great communication skills
