Ironworks Operative

Lightways (Contractors) Limited is a family run business with over 40 years of experience in streetlighting, surfacing, and reinstatement. Our reinstatement division specialises in delivering a surfacing and reinstatement service to local authorities, public utilities, and public utility contractors.

Our company has extensive experience in surfacing and reinstatement of carriageways and footways of all surface types including asphalt, bitmac, slabs, block paving, setts, and granolithic concrete. All construction works are carried out by our own staff – a valuable, trained, and qualified resource – and we would like you to join our team.

To meet the demands of our customers, we have a requirement to recruit an experienced Ironworks Operative.

Experience in replacing ironworks and a full driving licence are essential requirements for this post.

The post is based from our Head Office in Larbert, though works will be undertaken at sites across Scotland.

The working hours for this role will be nine hours per day, Monday to Friday inclusive. There is opportunity to work overtime, including weekends and nights, as required.

The hourly rate for this post is within the range of £16-£18 per hour, dependent on experience.

The Ideal Candidate

Experienced in replacing ironworks (essential)
Driving Licence (essential)
Experience of this or a similar industry (essential)
At least one year of driving experience
Self-motivated individual
Positive attitude towards work
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
CSCS card (desirable)
Traffic management experience (desirable)
Understanding of health and safety requirements (essential)
