Quality Control Technician
Rocal Group are recruiting for a motivated and process-driven Quality Control Technician to join our Quality & Technical team.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting product quality, process compliance, and continuous improvement activities within a composite door manufacturing environment. You will carry out product inspections, process audits, data recording and analysis, and support small-scale improvement projects to help reduce waste, improve consistency, and maintain compliance with internal and industry quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out product quality inspections and PDI checks on finished composite doors.
- Record and distribute daily scrap and quality data, identifying trends, anomalies, and recurring defects.
- Conduct routine process inspections including glue weight checks, pull tests, weld break tests, torque checks, argon gas tests, and hardware feature checks.
- Complete regular process audits to ensure production teams are following documented procedures and quality standards.
- Assist in the creation, review, and updating of manufacturing process documentation, quality checksheets, and work instructions.
- Support the development and implementation of improved quality control processes and inspection methods.
- Maintain accurate quality records and production data using Microsoft Excel and internal systems.
- Analyze quality and process data to identify opportunities for waste reduction, defect prevention, and process improvement.
- Produce reports and summaries for daily production and quality meetings.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to customer complaints, production defects, and process failures.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, supplier quality, and technical teams to improve product quality and process consistency.
- Train and coach production operators on quality standards, inspection methods, and process compliance.
- Create quality alerts and assist with toolbox talks and quality awareness activities.
- Support small-scale continuous improvement projects focused on process efficiency, quality performance, and scrap reduction.
- Participate in internal audits and support ISO9001 quality management activities.
What You Bring
- Previous experience within a manufacturing quality control or process-based role.
- Experience within the fenestration, composite door, window, or related manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
- Understanding of quality inspection techniques and process auditing.
- Experience recording and analysing manufacturing or quality data.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Awareness of ISO9001 quality systems and internal auditing processes.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to support small improvement projects and follow actions through to completion.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with production teams.

Pay, Benefits, and Hours
- Hourly rate between £14.56-£15.72 per hour dependent on experience
- 40 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday - Monday 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday 7:30am-12:00pm (with some flexibility)
