We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Roofer to join our team, we are based in Redditch and operate across the Midlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar roofing systems, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities
- Install solar roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings according to project specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to secure solar panels and related components
- Operate machinery such as excavators when necessary for site preparation or material handling
- Perform welding tasks to ensure secure mounting of solar panels and structural components
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Assist with site preparation, including the use of excavators and other heavy machinery
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
- Troubleshoot electrical issues related to solar systems, ensuring proper functioning of installed equipment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing or construction, particularly with solar energy systems preferred
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical systems
- Electrical experience or knowledge of electrical wiring within solar installations is highly desirable
- Experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery is advantageous but not mandatory
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to roofing structures or renewable energy systems is beneficial
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and installation instructions accurately
Candidates should demonstrate a proactive attitude towards safety procedures and possess excellent problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s licence is preferred for travel between sites. Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
