Job Introduction

As a Kitchen Porter at Sodexo Royal Stoke Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, working behind the scenes to support our chefs and ensure every dish is served to the highest standard.

What you’ll do:

Carry out a range of kitchen porter duties in line with schedules and supervisor instructions
Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) legislation and standards
Take responsibility for personal and team health & safety, ensuring no risk to others
Deliver ad hoc food and equipment items to wards and clinical areas
Communicate effectively with colleagues to support catering service delivery
Complete daily records and documentation accurately and on time
Move food trolleys and equipment safely, following procedures and escalation routes
Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, infection control, and ensure equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and operational

What you bring:

A positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others
Strong communication and listening skills with a focus on excellent customer care
Emotionally resilient with the ability to remain calm under pressure
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to respond quickly to change
Good understanding of health and safety requirements in the workplace
A reliable team player who can also use initiative and work independently
The ability to stay on your feet and work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn new skills (e.g. food safety, health & hygiene)
