Full job description

Job Title: Bank Care Worker
Location: Waters View Residential Home, Little Oakley, Harwich
Reports to: Care Home Manager
Salary: Competitive hourly rate
Job Type: Bank/Zero-hour contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Bank Care Workers to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to our residents on an as-needed basis. This role offers flexibility, with the opportunity to cover shifts at short notice, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide person-centred care and support to residents, promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.
Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting.
Support residents with mobility and daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Administer medication in line with care plans and regulatory requirements (if trained and authorised).
Engage residents in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life.
Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional well-being.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, residents’ families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
Adhere to safeguarding procedures, health and safety policies, and infection control measures.
Be available to cover shifts at short notice when required.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a care role is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
A compassionate and patient approach with a commitment to person-centred care.
Ability to work flexibly, including covering last-minute shifts.
Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential).
Right to work in the UK.

Potential Shifts:
Cook 7:30am-1:30pm
Day Care 8am-8pm, 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm
Night Care 8pm-8am
Senior Shifts: 7am-7:15pm or 7pm-7:15am
