Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Groundworks Estimator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for groundworks projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organisation committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, a good understanding of construction processes, and experience with cost control measures.

Duties

Analyse project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare comprehensive estimates for groundworks projects.
Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather relevant pricing information and negotiate favourable terms.
Develop detailed cost breakdowns covering materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.
Monitor project budgets and ensure estimates align with financial targets throughout the bidding process.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and submission of competitive bids.
Conduct site visits as necessary to assess ground conditions and validate estimates.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, material costs, and new technologies relevant to groundworks.
Implement effective cost control strategies to optimise project profitability without compromising quality or safety standards.

Skills

Proven experience as a Groundworks Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of groundworks processes, materials, and construction methods.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members at all levels.
Experience with cost control techniques to ensure projects remain within budget constraints.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within fast-paced environments. This position offers an engaging career path for professionals passionate about construction estimation and project management within the groundworks sector.

Pay: £15.15-£22.65 per hour
