Salary - £26,000 - £29,000 dependant on experience

Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA

Pattern of Work – 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday

What you need to know about the role

In this role as a Day Chemist, you’ll be part of a close-knit team responsible for conducting laboratory analyses across a range of product and process samples. You’ll manage samples through the lab workflow, ensuring turnaround times are met and preventing delays in testing or product release.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to strict Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) standards and demonstrate an understanding of CoSHH regulations.
Conduct routine laboratory testing in line with operational procedures.
Participate in internal and external audits to maintain compliance and quality assurance.
Maintain calibration and equipment maintenance records in accordance with site policy and ISO 17025 requirements.
Engage in training and development activities to support continuous improvement and professional growth.

What we need to know about you
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical skill and a strong sense of accountability to the role. You should have:

A foundation degree or higher in a relevant technical science discipline or significant experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
A solid understanding of chemical analysis methods, particularly relating to water and fuels (preferred).
Practical knowledge of operating, maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of laboratory analysers.
A methodical, process-driven approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
