Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The MOT Tester will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of vehicles on the road while providing excellent service to our customers.

Duties

Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed.
Document test results accurately and provide clear feedback to customers regarding any necessary repairs or issues found during testing.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks related to vehicle maintenance and repairs when required.
Stay updated with changes in MOT regulations and best practices within the automotive industry.

Qualifications

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive testing or repair.
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily tasks.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective customer interaction.
