Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the efficient operation of our warehouse, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring that goods are stored, loaded, and dispatched accurately and safely. Experience in warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge will be advantageous. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques
Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and competently
Managing stock levels through picking, packing, stocking, and organising goods
Assisting with the loading and unloading of lorries, ensuring items are secured properly
Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
Maintaining a clean and organised warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency
Supporting shipping & receiving processes by preparing consignments for dispatch or receipt
Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or troubleshooting as required

Experience

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary procedures
Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is desirable; valid certification is an advantage
Knowledge of warehouse management systems or inventory software is beneficial
Experience with picking & packing, stock replenishment, and quality control processes will be advantageous
Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in physically demanding conditions
Prior exposure to shipping & receiving operations is desirable but not mandatory

This role requires organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Candidates should be physically fit, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout their duties.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
