Job Title: Band 5 Pharmacy Technician

Trust: Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Location: Churchill Hospital, Oncology Pharmacy

Pay Rates: £18.66 per hour

Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours - Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00

Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will:

Support the day-to-day operations of a busy hospital pharmacy, including the dispensing of medications and prescriptions for patient use.
Work as an Accredited Checking Technician, accurately checking clinically screened prescriptions.
Conduct regular expiry date checks across designated pharmacy stock locations, identifying expired or short-dated medicines.
Provide advice and guidance to patients on the safe and effective use of their medications, including discussing potential side effects and treatment considerations.
Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety and pharmaceutical care.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must be able to provide evidence of the following:

NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent qualification).
Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Accredited Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.
Previous experience working within a pharmacy environment at Band 5 level or equivalent.
