About the Role
As Events Coordinator (Challenges), you will lead the operational planning and delivery of Norwood’s challenge events portfolio .
Working as part of the Events & Sponsorship team, you will manage participant journeys from recruitment through to post-event stewardship, ensuring every event delivers a high-quality experience and strong fundraising outcomes.
You will work closely with fundraising, marketing and donor engagement colleagues to grow participation, strengthen supporter relationships and maximise income generation.
You will:
- Deliver a portfolio of UK and international challenge events
- Coordinate event logistics, timelines, suppliers and participant communications
- Support participant recruitment and fundraising activity
- Build strong relationships with supporters, volunteers and stakeholders
- Help create engaging supporter journeys that encourage long-term involvement with Norwood
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing events to life.
Your Day to Day
You will:
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of challenge events from start to finish
- Work with challenge providers, suppliers and partners to ensure smooth delivery
- Recruit and support participants through regular communication and stewardship
- Motivate supporters to achieve and exceed fundraising targets
- Work closely with Marketing to support event promotion and recruitment campaigns
- Prepare reports, updates and insights for the Challenge Events Committee
- Ensure accurate recording of participant and fundraising data within the CRM
- Monitor participation, income and event performance to support future planning
- Represent Norwood positively at events and within the community

Qualifications, Experience & Training
Essential
- Experience delivering events, challenge events or participant-led fundraising activity
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence managing suppliers, partners and stakeholders
- Ability to motivate and support fundraisers and participants
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Desirable
- Experience delivering overseas or endurance challenge events
- Experience working with volunteers or committees
- Familiarity with fundraising databases or CRM systems
You will also need flexibility to support events outside standard working hours, with TOIL provided in line with organisational policy.

It brings together Governance, Leadership, Fundraising, Finance, People and Culture, and Marketing and Communications, providing coordination and support to Children & Family Services and Adult Services.
The office supports Norwood’s mission to help people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, their families, and children in need across London and the South East. It is also the main point of contact for referrals, general enquiries, and charity business.
