Redwood River School is looking for a Primary Teacher to join our wonderful independent SEN school. Our new school is based at the Old Postern, a breathtakingly beautiful medieval building steeped in history and surrounded by the tranquil natural beauty of the South Devon countryside.

As part of our exciting journey, we’re delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced Primary Teacher to join our brand-new team at Redwood River School. This is more than just a job—it’s a rare chance to help shape something from the very beginning.

As a Primary Teacher, you’ll deliver a broad, balanced and responsive curriculum that meets every student where they are. You’ll be a key part of a nurturing, creative and highly reflective team, using your skills to unlock each learner’s potential.

What You’ll Be Doing 

Planning and delivering inclusive and engaging lessons 
Promoting strong progress across the curriculum 
Leading subject development and assessment in a key area of the curriculum 
Supporting LSAs and collaborating with therapy and pastoral teams 
Developing holistic learning experiences rooted in relational and trauma-informed practice 
Using a range of strategies to meet the communication, sensory, social and emotional needs of students

QTS
Experience working with students with SEND, particularly ASC, PDA and SEMH 
A reflective, resilient and relational approach to teaching 
Ability to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary team
