Full job description

Class 1 drivers required for permanent local shunting work in Hull, Monday - Friday between 8 and 9 hours per day.

Good Weekly pay/bonuses/ pension contribution and working conditions from a long established local haulage company.

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 Drivers to join our long established transport company . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in compliance with road safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate a lorry to transport goods to various locations as scheduled.
Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to weight limits and securing loads properly.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, mileage, and fuel consumption.
Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate class for operating a Class 1.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
