Job Summary
MK Construction & Renovation Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Floorer and Wall Tiler to join our construction and renovation team on a full-time fixed-term basis. The role is required to support our residential building, extension, loft conversion, kitchen, bathroom and renovation projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, installing floor coverings, laying wall and floor tiles in bathrooms, kitchens and other residential renovation areas, carrying out finishing work and ensuring all flooring and tiling work is completed to a high professional standard.
The Floorer and Wall Tiler will report directly to the Director and will work under company supervision on MK Construction & Renovation Ltd projects.
Duties
Prepare floors, walls and surfaces before installing flooring or tiles.
Measure work areas and calculate the quantity of tiles, flooring materials, adhesives, grout and other materials required.
Lay floor and wall tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and other residential areas.
Install different types of flooring, including laminate, vinyl, wood-effect flooring and other suitable residential floor coverings.
Cut, shape and fit tiles and flooring materials accurately around corners, edges, fixtures and fittings.
Apply adhesives, grout, sealants and finishing materials correctly and safely.
Repair or replace damaged tiles, flooring and related finishing materials.
Level surfaces, prepare subfloors and ensure areas are suitable before flooring or tiling work begins.
Use hand tools, power tools, tile cutters, levelling tools and flooring equipment safely and effectively.
Follow drawings, measurements, specifications and instructions provided by the company.
Ensure all flooring and tiling work is completed accurately, safely and to a high standard of workmanship.
Follow health and safety rules, site procedures and company policies at all times.
Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure tools and materials are used responsibly.
Work with other team members and subcontractors where required to complete projects on time.
Report progress, site issues, material requirements and any safety concerns directly to the Director.
Skills
Previous experience as a Floorer, Wall Tiler or in a similar construction/renovation finishing role.
Strong practical knowledge of floor preparation, tiling, grouting, sealing and flooring installation.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, tile cutters and flooring equipment safely.
Ability to follow measurements, specifications, patterns and site instructions.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good timekeeping, reliability and willingness to work on different residential project sites.
Physical fitness and stamina to carry out manual flooring and tiling work for extended periods.
Pay: £41,700.00 per year
