Job Description

We are looking for a Trailer Technician to expand our HGV Truck And Trailer workshop at Immingham maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial trucks/ trailers.

This is a mobile role, and a fully equipped service van will be provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping trailers safe, roadworthy, and compliant with DVSA standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine trailer inspections and servicing
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical trailer faults
Perform brake, suspension, axle and lighting repairs
Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
Carry out defect repairs and preventative maintenance
Complete service sheets and defect reports
Ensure trailers remain DVSA compliant and safe for operation
Respond to breakdowns or urgent defects on site
Carry out electrical work including soldering and wiring repairs in accordance with safety standards
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, prioritising customer service excellence

Requirements

Experience working as a HGV Technician / Trailer Mechanic
Good knowledge of commercial trailer systems
Ability to work independently in a mobile role
Strong fault-finding skills
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work Long shifts Mon-Fri
