Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative support within a busy legal practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office, assisting lawyers with case management, and maintaining excellent client relations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organisational skills and a passion for legal work to develop their careers in a professional environment.

Duties

Proofreading, and managing legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail
Organising and maintaining case files, schedules, and court dates to ensure timely submissions and deadlines are met
Providing exceptional customer service to clients via phone, email, or in person, ensuring their queries are addressed promptly and professionally
Managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings for legal staff
Conducting basic analysis of legal information to assist lawyers in case preparation
Handling administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document retrieval efficiently
Liaising with external agencies, courts, and clients to facilitate communication and document exchange
Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information at all times

Requirements

Proven administrative experience within a legal environment is preferred but not essential; strong organisational skills are mandatory
Outstanding customer service abilities to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal management software is advantageous
Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional manner
