Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and composite structures on-site and in workshops. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for carpentry and joinery to contribute to diverse building projects, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Fabricate bespoke joinery components according to technical drawings and specifications
Assemble structures using hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery equipment
Install fitted furniture, doors, windows, roofing components, and other wooden structures on-site
Assist with roofing tasks, including sheathing and support installation
Support plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks where applicable, collaborating with specialists
Maintain a clean and organised workspace to adhere to health and safety regulations
Follow project timelines and communicate progress effectively with team membersRequirements
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry or joinery work
Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders)
Knowledge of roofing techniques, construction painting, plumbing, masonry or electrical experience is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights when necessary
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are preferred but not essential
