About us

Highway Assurance are a Traffic Management, Reactive and Civil Engineering company based across East Anglia, with our head office in Barham, Suffolk.

We pride ourselves on being able to offer the complete service from planning, through to the delivery of works. Our aim is to be the sub-contractor of choice. We do this by offering a bespoke and professional service to our clients.

We are seeking an experienced LGV Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs, general maintenance of company vehicles, mainly LGV and attending breakdowns on-site when required.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out diagnostics and fault finding on LGVs
Perform repairs, servicing, and routine maintenance on company vehicles
Attend vehicle breakdowns on-site and complete emergency repairs
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
Ensure all vehicles are maintained to roadworthy and safety standards
Complete maintenance records and job documentation accurately
Work independently in both workshop and mobile environments

Requirements

Proven experience working on LGVs is essential
Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and respond to breakdown call-outs
Good understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety standards
Working on a shift pattern 08:00 until 18:00
Full UK driving licence required

Desirable

Relevant mechanical qualifications or certifications
Experience with roadside or mobile breakdown repairs
HGV licence advantageous but not essential
