Full job description

We are a busy and growing lettings agency looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance and property management teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping or accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced property environment.

Key Responsibilities

Processing rental payments and landlord statements
Assist and submitting vat returns
Reconciling client and company bank accounts
Managing tenant deposits and maintaining accurate records
Raising invoices and processing supplier payments
Assisting with rent arrears monitoring and reporting
Maintaining accurate accounting records and spreadsheets
Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes
Liaising with landlords, tenants, contractors, and colleagues regarding account queries
Ensuring compliance with relevant client money regulations and procedures

Requirements

Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or finance role
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organisational skills
Experience within the property or lettings sector is desirable but not essential

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of lettings/property management systems
Understanding of client accounting and rent reconciliation
AAT qualification or studying towards an accounting qualification
