Full job description

Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Depute Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day leadership of our setting. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care and learning, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager in leading and managing the nursery team
Ensure high standards of care, learning, and development in line with national frameworks
Act as a role model for best practice in early years education
Assist with staff supervision, training, and performance management
Maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies
Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and relevant legislation
Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence

Requirements

SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in Childhood Practice or above
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) (or willingness to register)
Proven experience in an early years leadership or senior practitioner role
Strong knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and GIRFEC principles
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
