About the Business:

We are a Greater Manchester based Service, Repair and Construction firm, that specialises in delivering multi-faceted projects. Our services range from basic welding to multi-million-pound anaerobic digestion facilities. We’re trusted partners for domestic and international projects.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional looking to contribute strategically and operationally, while enjoying the flexibility of part-time working hours. You will play a key role in managing the company’s finances, ensuring robust financial control, and supporting the leadership team with insightful reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management
Develop budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor performance against them
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and other regulatory requirements
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC as required
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Implement and maintain internal financial controls and processes
Support with grant applications, funding rounds, or investor reporting if applicable
Managing CIS and VAT processes, including record keeping, reconciliations, and return preparation.

Requirements:

Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent desirable)
Proven experience in a similar finance role (SME or startup experience is a plus)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
