Stores Person

Location: Kelso, Scottish Borders
Salary: £13.45 per hour, increasing to £13.95 per hour following successful completion of a 3-month probation
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Opportunity

My client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Kelso, is looking for a reliable and motivated Stores Person to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a busy operation where you'll play a key role in ensuring materials, stock and customer orders move efficiently through the business. Please note, a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Pick and kit components to support production teams
Prepare, pack and check customer orders ready for dispatch
Receive incoming deliveries, checking quantities against purchase orders and reporting any discrepancies
Safely load and unload vehicles using a counterbalance forklift
Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
Keep the stores area clean, organised and operating efficiently
Work closely with colleagues across production and warehouse departments to ensure the smooth running of daily operations

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, manufacturing or logistics environment
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining stock accuracy
The ability to work efficiently in a physically active role
A proactive, reliable approach with a strong work ethic
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable

Experience using an ERP or stock management system
Knowledge of goods-in/goods-out processes within a manufacturing environment
