About the role
Are you a positive, reliable and hands-on Welding Operative who takes pride in producing quality work?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our steel fabrication team in Hereford, working within the Welding and Fabrication area to support safe, efficient and high-quality production.
Shift Pattern:
- Shift 1: 06:00 – 14:00 (with enhanced pay between 06:00 – 08:00)
- Shift 2: 14:00 – 22:00 (with enhanced pay between 16:00 – 22:00)
- Shifts alternate weekly
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out all aspects of the welding role within the fabrication area.
- Working safely at all times, following work instructions and supporting the company’s Zero Harm approach.
- Operating effectively as part of a team and completing tasks as required.
- Producing quality work while supporting efficiency, output and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Helping to reduce waste and improve processes across the fabrication area.
- Undertaking additional duties as required to support the wider production team.
Who we're looking for
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong “can do” approach.
- Reliability, self-motivation and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn, embrace new ideas and support a continuous improvement culture.
- Experience using air and electric hand tools, grinders and similar equipment.
- The ability to understand drawings and complete process-related documentation.
- A good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
It would be advantageous if you hold relevant MAG welding qualifications, including multi-layer fillet welding in carbon steels greater than 3mm thick in the horizontal-vertical position, or MAG butt welding in carbon steels greater than 5mm thick in the flat position, in accordance with BS EN 287-1 or BS EN ISO 9606-1.
