Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and maintaining a welcoming environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and food service to develop their skills in a dynamic setting. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and a positive attitude are key.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit
Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, and light snacks
Assist with food safety procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
Take orders accurately and process payments efficiently using the point-of-sale system
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Support catering events or special functions when required
Collaborate with team members to deliver an outstanding customer experience

Skills

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality environments is preferred but not mandatory
Barista experience is highly desirable for preparing high-quality coffee beverages
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and customer service
A positive attitude and team-oriented approach are essential for success in this role

Pay: £12.71 per hour
