Seeking an Expert MOT Tester Who Wants More Than Just a Job!

Company: Johnny’s Garage
Location: Wrexham, Wales, UK
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per year + Performance Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (No weekends!)

At Johnny’s Garage in Wrexham, we are expanding our team. We are a thriving, independent auto repair and MOT centre, and we need a dedicated MOT Tester to help us keep our community safe on the road.

Excellent Pay: A highly competitive salary of £32,000 - £35,000 based on your experience.
Performance Bonuses: On top of your salary, you’ll receive bonuses directly tied to the garage’s success. (Please note: bonuses apply after the successful completion of the probationary period).
Tool Allowance: We respect your investment in your trade. We provide an annual tool allowance of up to £300 to help you maintain and upgrade your personal kit.

Fully Paid Training: We cover 100% of the costs for your ongoing CPD and any additional certifications you want to pursue.
A Premium Benefits Package:

– 5% Employer Pension Contribution (well above the UK legal minimum).

– Paid Overtime: If extra hours are ever required, they are paid at Time and a Half (1.5x).

– Great Work-Life Balance: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Keep your weekends for yourself!

– Brand-New Equipment: Every piece of kit in our workshop is less than 2 years old — including our MOT bay equipment. If something is needed, we buy it. No excuses, no waiting.

– A Great Atmosphere: We are a close-knit team that works hard but enjoys what we do, in a clean, professional environment.

The Role

Conducting Class 4 (and/or Class 7) MOT inspections to DVSA standards.
Accurately diagnosing faults and clearly explaining necessary repairs.
Completing basic mechanical repairs and servicing when the MOT bay is quiet.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient testing environment.

What We Need From You

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an active MOT Tester.
Qualifications: A valid DVSA MOT Tester smart card/qualification.
Skills: Solid mechanical knowledge to assist with general repairs.
Attitude: Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player.
