Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and responsible Class 1 HGV Low Loader Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting heavy plant and machinery using a flatbed low loader lorry. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. The position requires adherence to safety standards, punctuality, and professionalism at all times.

Duties

Safely operate a Class 1 HGV low loader lorry, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
Load and secure heavy machinery or equipment onto the flatbed, ensuring stability during transit
Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled deadlines
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
Assist with the loading and unloading process when necessary, using appropriate lifting equipment
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance checks
Follow all health and safety procedures to protect oneself and others on the road and at loading sites
Communicate effectively with clients, dispatchers, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays

Qualifications

Valid Class 1 HGV licence with a clean driving record
Must have Load and Secure experience
MUST have IPAF qualification
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or low loader vehicles
Knowledge of safe loading practices for heavy machinery on flatbeds
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles confidently and responsibly
Good organisational skills
Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required

Pay: £180.00-£200.00 per day
