Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering prescriptions efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics services.

Duties

Safely operate company vans, in accordance with road safety regulations
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations
Load and unload totes, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling
Verify deliveries and obtain necessary signatures upon deliveries
Communicate effectively with other pharmacy teams, drivers and patients regarding delivery schedules or issues
Flexibility to cover for other pharmacy drivers
Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs
Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met before each shift
Adhere to all health and safety policies, including proper handling of vehicles and prescriptions

Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving or healthcare environments
Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations applicable to commercial driving
