Job Introduction

School Cleaner

Edinburgh Academy Senior School, 42 Henderson Row, Edinburgh, EH3 5BL & Edinburgh Academy Junior School, 10 Arboretum Road, Edinburgh EH3 5PL

Christmas & New Year Off – Every Year

Friendly School Environment – Stable, permanent, year-Round Work

Pay: £13.20 per hour

Hours: as below

Junior School - 1 x 37-week position, 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 4:00pm–8:00pm

Senior School - Various positions available: 20 or 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–8:00pm or 4:00pm–8:00pm.

Additional hours: Occasional weekend work depending on business needs

Contract options:

52 weeks (includes non-term time)
2 x 37 weeks (term time only – school holidays off)

Please note: During school holiday periods, shifts for 52-week contracts may change to morning and afternoon working patterns rather than evenings.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join our friendly team at Edinburgh Academy Senior School. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the school, helping to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for everyone.

What You’ll Do

Clean classrooms, corridors, and shared school spaces to a high standard
Use cleaning equipment safely (full training provided)
Follow daily cleaning routines and schedules
Work as part of a friendly and supportive team
Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment

What you’ll bring:

Reliable, positive, and proud of your work
A team player who can also work independently
Good attention to detail
Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided
