General Maintenance Operative:

RentMyHome is looking for an experienced General Maintenance Operative to help maintain, improve, and refurbish our growing portfolio of residential properties across Leicester and the surrounding areas.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, refurbishment, and installation works across our managed properties. This role requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of projects, and consistently deliver a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and refurbish kitchens and bathrooms, including rip-outs and full replacements
Carry out general property maintenance and repairs across residential properties
Undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, decorating, patch plastering, and other associated works
Diagnose maintenance issues and identify cost-effective repair solutions
Complete void property refurbishments to prepare properties for new tenants
Liaise professionally with tenants, contractors, and office staff
Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Maintain accurate records, photographs, and updates on completed works
Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained and cared for

What We're Looking For:

Minimum 5 years' experience in property maintenance, kitchen fitting, bathroom fitting, or a similar role
Proven experience installing kitchens and bathrooms from start to finish
Strong carpentry and plumbing skills
Ability to undertake tiling, flooring, decorating, and finishing works
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with tenants and landlords
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

Desirable Skills:

Multi-trade experience
Experience working within occupied residential properties
Basic electrical or plumbing qualifications
Experience within the lettings, or property management sectors
