We are now recruiting Drivers and Porters to join our growing team. These roles are ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, teamwork, and delivering excellent customer service.
Driver – Role Summary
As a Driver, you will safely operate company vehicles, transport goods between locations, and support the team with loading and unloading when required. You will represent the company on‑site, ensuring each job is completed efficiently and professionally.
Driver – Key Skills
- Valid UK driving licence 3+
- Confident driving skills (experience with vans/Luton vehicles preferred)
- Strong navigation and route‑planning ability
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to complete basic paperwork and job sheets
- Physical fitness to assist with lifting when needed
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
Porter – Role Summary
As a Porter, you will assist with lifting, carrying, packing, and protecting customer belongings. You’ll work closely with drivers and other porters to ensure each move is completed safely and to a high standard.
Porter – Key Skills
- Strong physical fitness and manual‑handling ability
- Experience in removals or labouring (preferred but not essential)
- Good teamwork and communication
- Attention to detail when packing and wrapping items
- Customer‑friendly attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt on‑site
- Reliable, punctual, and hard‑working
Work Pattern Options
DC Removals offers several work‑pattern structures to suit different applicants and job demands:
1. Standard Full‑Time
- Monday to Friday, typically 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Occasional weekend work during busy periods
- Overtime available for longer jobs
- Start/finish times may vary depending on bookings
2. Flexible Rota
- Weekly rota based on scheduled removals
- Shifts usually between 7:30am – 6:00pm
- Extra shifts available during peak seasons
- Ideal for candidates who prefer varied hours
3. Part‑Time / Casual
- 2–4 days per week depending on availability
- Work offered on a job‑by‑job basis
- Suitable for students or those seeking additional income
- Weekend availability is a bonus
4. Driver & Porter Team Pattern
- Work in pairs or small teams
- Typical day includes loading, transport, unloading, and customer interaction
- Start times vary depending on first job location
- Paid travel time between jobs
5. Peak Season Pattern
- Increased hours during busy periods (summer, month‑end, holidays)
- Optional long‑day shifts for higher earnings
- Additional weekend availability appreciated
