Full job description

Homeleigh Aquatics, in Homeleigh Garden Centre Launceston, is one of the leading aquatics centres in the South West and it is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Aquatic Retail Assistant to join our friendly team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in aquatics and fishkeeping to work in a specialist retail environment, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the highest standards of livestock care.

This role is part time working Saturdays & Sundays. (Some mid week shifts will be available). 9am til close on all days.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional customer service and expert advice across all areas of aquatics, including tropical, marine, and coldwater systems.
Maintain and care for aquatic livestock, ensuring tanks are clean, healthy, and well-presented.
Support with stock management, merchandising, and product displays.
Assist with water testing, feeding, and general maintenance of aquatic systems.
Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the department and the wider store.

Candidate Requirements:

A strong interest or prior experience in aquatics, fishkeeping, or pet retail (training can be provided for the right candidate).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, enthusiastic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
