Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service and hospitality industry, with potential pathways for career development. The role involves supporting chefs and kitchen staff by managing cleaning duties, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

Washing, drying, and storing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and kitchen equipment
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
Supporting the kitchen team during service periods to ensure timely delivery of meals
Managing waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health regulations
Ensuring all health and safety protocols are strictly followed to maintain a hygienic environment
Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Assisting with organising storage areas to keep the kitchen tidy and accessible

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary activities is advantageous
Experience working in hospitality or serving roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service standards
A proactive attitude towards cleanliness and organisation is essential for success in this role
