We are seeking an experienced, passionate and ambitious Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation and build upon the strong foundations already in place.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Head Chef to join a hotel with an established and experienced kitchen team already in place. We are looking for a leader who can inspire, develop and work alongside the team to maintain our existing 2 AA Rosette standard, while driving the restaurant forward with the ambition of achieving 3 AA Rosettes in the future.
As Head Chef, you will have overall responsibility for the day to day operation of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation. You will work closely with management to develop menus, maximise profitability and continue enhancing the hotel's reputation as a leading dining destination.
This role would suit a chef with a proven track record in high quality dining who is passionate about creating outstanding guest experiences and motivated by the challenge of achieving further industry recognition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations
- Maintain and further develop the standards required of a 2 AA Rosette restaurant
- Drive the culinary vision with the goal of achieving 3 AA Rosettes
- Develop and implement seasonal menus that showcase quality, creativity and local produce
- Maintain exceptional food standards and consistency across all service periods
- Manage food purchasing, stock control and supplier relationships
- Monitor food costs and kitchen budgets to achieve financial targets
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations
- Recruit, train and develop kitchen staff where required
- Foster a positive, professional and productive kitchen culture
- Work closely with front of house teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Oversee catering for weddings, events, functions and special occasions as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or an accomplished Senior Sous Chef ready to take the next step
- Experience working within AA Rosette, fine dining or high quality hospitality environments
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- A passion for developing teams and maintaining exceptional standards
- Proven ability to manage food costs, stock control and kitchen budgets
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Creativity, innovation and a commitment to culinary excellence
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Relevant food hygiene qualifications
