The Position
As Design Manager for Data Centres (MEP), based in London, you will lead multi-disciplinary design delivery across high-profile mission critical projects. You’ll manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless, high-quality outcomes, providing technical and commercial leadership from concept through to handover and post-handover stages.
You will act as NDY’s primary client liaison on design matters, championing design excellence, collaboration and sustainable solutions in complex, energy-intensive environments.

Your Key Accountabilities
Project delivery & design management

Project delivery and design managementLead and coordinate MEP design activities from concept to handover, ensuring integration across disciplines

Manage programme, cost and risk, resolving issues to meet commercial objectives

Maintain design documentation, including risk registers, change logs and quality assurance

Coordinate technical deliverables such as specifications, calculations and design reports

Facilitate design reviews, client meetings and workshops

Support procurement, testing, commissioning and post-handover activities
Client and stakeholder management

Serve as primary client contact for design matters, effectively managing expectations

Build strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders

Identify and pursue business opportunities through client engagement and networking
People leadership and development

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications and certifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent
-
Chartered Engineer status preferred or working towards
Skills and experience
-
7–12 years’ experience managing MEP design on data centres or mission critical projects
-
Strong knowledge of data centre systems: UPS, standby generation, electrical distribution, earthing, battery systems, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, pumping, controls/BMS

Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering on time and budget

Experience managing client relationships and stakeholder communications on complex projects
Additional Skills

Commercially aware with strong problem-solving and decision-making capability

Capable of working independently and collaboratively under pressure

Familiarity with Uptime Institute tiering, ISO/IEC critical facility standards is desirable

Experience in sustainable and low-carbon design for high-energy facilities is a plus
