This is an on-site role, 5 days per week in SE1.
About the Role
We’re looking for an IT Apprentice to join our Group IT team at Ministry of Sound. This is a hands-on role supporting both employees and customers with the technology they rely on across our venues, offices and wider business.
As the first point of contact for IT support, you’ll help keep systems running smoothly while developing your skills in a fast-paced, creative environment. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll work towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship, gaining practical experience and building a strong foundation for a career in IT.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll provide first-line IT support, responding to queries via phone, email, Microsoft Teams and our ticketing system. You’ll log, prioritise and resolve requests in line with service levels, escalating more complex issues where required.
Your day-to-day work will involve troubleshooting hardware, software, network and user access issues, as well as setting up and configuring laptops, devices, meeting room technology and software to ensure everything is fit for purpose. You’ll manage user accounts, permissions and licences across Microsoft 365 and Azure AD, while supporting onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure employees are set up correctly or deactivated securely.
You’ll also assist with system upgrades, rollouts and the introduction of new applications across the business, maintaining accurate documentation of tickets, assets and processes throughout. A strong focus on security and data protection will underpin everything you do. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation, confidently supporting both technical and non-technical users in a clear and approachable way.
What You’ll Learn
Through the apprenticeship, you’ll build a solid grounding in modern IT support, including how to install, configure and maintain systems, diagnose technical issues and identify root causes. You’ll gain an understanding of operating systems, hardware and software, alongside networking fundamentals across both physical and virtual environments.
You’ll also develop knowledge of remote access technologies, VPNs and firewalls, as well as cloud services, backup solutions and core security principles. In addition, you’ll build best practices around documentation, asset management and maintaining secure, well-managed IT systems in a real-world environment.
About You
You’ll have a genuine interest in technology and a strong motivation to build a career in IT. You enjoy problem-solving, take a logical approach to challenges and are comfortable working through issues independently or escalating when needed.
You’ll be a clear communicator with a customer-focused mindset, able to explain technical concepts in a way that others can understand. You’ll be organised, reliable and able to balance your time effectively between work and study, while contributing positively as part of a collaborative, on-site team.
You’ll need to be aged 18 or over, have the right to work in the UK and meet the apprenticeship entry requirements, including GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above, or be willing to complete Functional Skills as part of the programme. This opportunity is open to school or college leavers and career changers, provided you do not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.
Any prior exposure to IT support, whether through education, personal projects or work experience, would be beneficial, as would familiarity with Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft 365. An interest in music, events or media is a plus.
What We Offer
This is more than just an apprenticeship. You’ll gain real responsibility from day one in a creative and fast-moving environment, supported by an experienced IT team that is committed to your development.
You’ll complete a fully funded Level 3 apprenticeship, gaining a nationally recognised qualification alongside a blend of on-the-job experience and dedicated learning time. You’ll also benefit from ongoing mentoring and support, with clear progression opportunities into roles such as second-line support, networking or systems administration. As part of Ministry of Sound, you’ll also have access to the wider benefits and culture that come with the business.
We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. We’re committed to fair and inclusive hiring and will support reasonable adjustments throughout the process.
