Job Overview
To work as part of a uniformed team who patrol relevant areas of the CEPC’s Regent's Park estate and private gardens in St James’s, resolving problems, regulating parking and maintaining a security watch on behalf of the CEPC and estate occupiers.
Hours of Work
12 hour shift consisting of days, nights and weekends. (4 on / 4 off rota)
(08:00 - 20:00 and 20:00 - 08:00)
Responsibilities
- To patrol designated areas of the Regent's Park estate by van and on foot to provide effective implementation of the CEPC’s Parking Regulations, including making appropriate judgements about the issuing of warning notices and/or the application/removal of wheel clamps, under the guidance of the Head of Traffic & Security and in line with the CEPC Parking Regulations.
- To undergo relevant training in the use of and become effective in using the till and contractor parking database to issue contractor parking permits on a daily basis.
- To maintain a close security watch on all parts of the Regent's Park estate and at St James’s under CEPC control.
- To report and accurately document (by phone, electronic communication methods, radio, in person) any issues that may arise to the Head of Traffic and Security, the emergency services and/or other CEPC colleagues.
- To monitor parking permits and record information about parking infringements using electronic systems.
- To make daily reports of damage to lampposts, street lighting and furniture or other infrastructure belonging to the CEPC around the estate.
- To identify, record, monitor and make regular reports of any obstruction of footways/roadways or works being carried out in areas of the estate under the control of the CEPC.
- To identify and report on the status of skips, scaffolding or other works on footways or roadways for which a CEPC licence is required.
- To provide a parking suspension service to occupiers who are moving or to facilitate deliveries.
- To act as the first point of contact with the CEPC for the emergency services or utility companies handling emergency works or situations. To give these services appropriate assistance with traffic control, control of the park gates or with the movement of occupier’s vehicles.
- To liaise with the security operations of occupiers around the estate in order to provide effective security for occupiers.
- To make daily verbal and written reports on specific incidents as requested.
- To carry out routine and emergency maintenance to CEPC equipment or infrastructure in order to maintain an effective traffic control and security operation.
- To undergo relevant training and at all times to represent the CEPC in a professional and efficient manner.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as may be considered appropriate to this role and to meet changing requirements.

E Excellent verbal and written skill in the English language
E Full clean driving licence
D SIA Door Supervisor qualification (or willingness to train)
E Understanding of risk assessment and basic Health & Safety management
D Knows what makes for a good customer care experience
D Experience of traffic management or street-works operations
D First aid certificate
