Finance Manager / General Accountant (Subsidiary)

Location: New Romney, Kent

Reporting to: UK Managing Director

Department: Finance

About the Role

We are looking for a highly autonomous and detail-oriented Finance Manager / General Accountant to join our subsidiary. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial operations and reliable reporting to the parent company. You will act as a trusted financial partner locally and a key contact for the head office finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain general and auxiliary accounting (accounts receivable and payable)
Oversee client accounts, including follow-up, payment reminders, and litigation tracking
Perform regular account reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
Prepare and manage monthly bank reconciliations
Support quarterly reporting by preparing entries, including:
Identification of unpaid invoices
Accruals (invoices to be issued, charges, deferred income, etc.)
Other adjustments (e.g. participation in advertising costs)
Coordinate with external/local accountants by:
Providing necessary elements for the annual financial statements
Supporting the preparation of monthly payroll and social/fiscal declarations
Support the subsidiary director with ad hoc administrative tasks

Key Relationships

Reports directly to the Subsidiary Director
Acts as the functional liaison with the Group Finance Department, particularly during:
Quarterly reporting cycles
Year-end closing processes

Profile & Skills

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

Strong rigor and attention to detail
High level of autonomy and organization
Excellent communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly to tools and processes
Strict adherence to accounting deadlines

Technical Requirements

Solid experience in accounting and financial reporting
Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
Knowledge of SAP is an advantage

Qualifications & Experience

Professional accounting qualification such as:
ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA (or local equivalent) – preferred
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
Experience in subsidiary or international group reporting is a plus
Strong knowledge of:
General accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
Financial reporting and closing processes
Tax and regulatory requirements (local compliance)
Proven experience in:
Accounts payable/receivable management
Monthly and quarterly closing activities
Working with external auditors or accountants

Pay: £31,896.91-£40,000.00 per year
