Full job description

Sandgrown Care is opening a brand-new, two-bedded children's home in St Annes, providing therapeutic care and support for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

We're looking for compassionate, dedicated and resilient Residential Support Workers who want more than just a job. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new home from the very beginning, helping to create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued, respected and supported to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people.
Build positive, trusting relationships that promote safety, stability and wellbeing.
Support children with daily routines, education, appointments and recreational activities.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive life skills.
Use therapeutic, trauma-informed approaches to support children who have experienced adversity.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
Work as part of a supportive team to create a warm, homely environment.
Promote safeguarding and follow all policies and procedures to ensure children's safety.
Participate in training, supervision and continuous professional development.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

Caring, patient and genuinely passionate about improving the lives of children.
Calm, resilient and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
Reliable, flexible and committed to providing outstanding care.
Able to build positive relationships and be a consistent role model.

Essential Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence.
Right to work in the UK.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable

Experience working with children or young people in residential care, education or a similar setting.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
Knowledge of safeguarding, attachment and trauma-informed practice.
