Contracts Officer

£33,397 increasing to £35,144.20 after 12 months service

35 hours a week – hybrid 2 days working from home

Your role

Evaluate and analyse contract performance across a portfolio of mid‑ to high‑value Local Authority and NHS ICB accounts, identifying financial risks and recommending effective solutions
Plan and deliver contract management activity, monitoring contracts against specifications to ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, procurement processes, and contractual terms
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, proactively identifying and addressing service delivery and financial performance issues
Lead and support end‑to‑end bid processes, from review and approval through to submission and award, ensuring high‑quality tenders and supporting strong win rates
Maintain accurate and effective filing systems, databases, and records to support robust contract management and service delivery tracking
Identify, assess, and escalate risks within the contract portfolio, working with senior colleagues to ensure timely mitigation and resolution
Support continuous improvement by contributing to projects, service developments, and change programmes aligned to team and organisational objectives

Your skills

Demonstrable experience in a similar role, consistently delivering high‑quality outcomes
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice, with the ability to apply this effectively in a practical setting
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure
Sound working knowledge of contract management processes and their application to support effective service delivery
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement appropriate solutions
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence and build effective relationships with third‑party suppliers and partners to achieve positive outcomes
