An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Grounds & Civils Department Building Team at Mayglothling Waste Ltd.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Groundworker/Labourer to support the installation, maintenance and repair of drainage and wastewater systems. This role is ideal for an experienced groundworker or labourer with mechanical machinery experience. Full training will be provided to the right candidate, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist industry.
About Us
Mayglothling Waste Ltd is a well-established waste management company based in Kington, Herefordshire. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist services, including:
- Supply, installation and maintenance of pumps and pumping stations
- CCTV drain surveys
- Drain inspections, diagnosis and repairs
- High-pressure water jetting and drainage system maintenance
- Cleaning and maintenance of interceptors, catch pits and drainage systems
- Supply, installation and servicing of septic tanks, cesspools, industrial grease traps, package sewage treatment plants, oil interceptors and rainwater harvesting systems
- Confined space tank cleaning using full breathing apparatus
The Role
As a Groundworker/Labourer, you will:
- Assist with the installation of new sewage and drainage systems
- Carry out general groundworks and labouring duties
- Operate plant and machinery where qualified
- Support CCTV drainage surveys and assist with fault diagnosis and repairs
- Liaise closely with the Building Operations Manager
- Work from technical plans and specifications provided by the Technical Sales team
- Provide excellent customer service and practical advice on site
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in groundworks, construction or general labouring
- Mechanical machinery experience (preferred)
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A full, clean UK driving licence preferred but not essential
Desirable Qualifications
The following certificates are advantageous but not essential:
- Excavator (Digger) Operator – Above and Below 10 Tonnes
- Dumper Operator – Above and Below 10 Tonnes
- Streetworks Operative
- Confined Space Certification
