Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The successful candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, with experience in equipment repair and maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a wide range of technical skills to deliver high-quality service.

Hours of work

Full time Monday - Friday with alternative Saturday shifts.

Overtime available at flat rate.

Duties

Working on a wide range of HGV trucks and trailers
Carry out mobile and workshop-based jobs.
Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify faults and necessary repairs
Carry out servicing
Perform mechanical repairs and assembly of vehicle components
Fault diagnostics
Repair or replace faulty parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
Maintain detailed records of all work carried out in accordance with company standards
Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with relevant legislation
Support the team with general maintenance tasks to uphold vehicle reliability and safety

Requirements

Proven experience as a HGV Technician (Essential)
HGV Licence - advantageous but not essential
Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently

Skills

Strong electrical knowledge combined with mechanical expertise in heavy vehicle systems
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for repairs and assembly
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in maintenance records
Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling of large components
Good customer service skills when liaising with clients or internal teams regarding repairs and maintenance tasks

This role is ideal for a dedicated technician eager to apply their technical expertise within an environment that values quality workmanship and safety.

Company van provided if the successful candidate requires one to carry out the role.

Pay will be determined by experience .

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
