Roofing Labourer – Basildon, Essex & Surrounding Areas (Must Drive)

Job Type: Self-Employed (UTR Required) with the opportunity to progress into permanent employment
Pay: £90.00 – £120.00 per day, depending on experience

About the Role

Talos Roofing Ltd is looking for a hardworking and reliable Roofing Labourer to join our growing team.

This role is ideal for someone looking to learn a trade and build a long-term career in the roofing industry. You will work alongside experienced roofers, assisting with a wide range of roofing and property maintenance works while developing the skills needed to progress into a Roofing Operative role.

The position is initially offered on a self-employed basis, and applicants must have a valid UTR number. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities for training, progression, and permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting roofers with repairs, maintenance, and installation works
Loading, unloading, and transporting materials, tools, and equipment
Keeping work areas clean, safe, and organised
Assisting with roof inspections, leak investigations, and remedial works
Supporting flat roofing, liquid waterproofing, single ply roofing, guttering, and general roofing works
Assisting with setting up and dismantling access equipment where required
Following company Health & Safety procedures and RAMS at all times
Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles where necessary

Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence (essential)
UTR number and ability to work on a self-employed basis
Good level of physical fitness
Comfortable working at height
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable (But Not Essential)

Previous construction, roofing, or labouring experience
CSCS Card
IPAF or PASMA certification
Working at Height training
