Paid Media & Digital Performance Manager
About the Role
We're looking for a commercially driven Paid Media & Digital Performance Manager to take ownership of paid digital performance across our ecommerce brands. This is a hands-on role responsible for Google Ads, Performance Max, Google Shopping, Meta, Merchant Center, product feeds, tracking, reporting and ROAS, ensuring every pound of advertising spend delivers measurable commercial value.
Working closely with the Sales & Commercial team, reporting to Head of Sales, you'll align paid media with trading priorities, optimise campaign performance and bring greater control of digital marketing in-house.
You'll be an experienced paid media specialist with strong ecommerce expertise, able to turn data into commercial action. While you don't need to be a developer, you'll be confident identifying tracking and data issues and working with technical teams to implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The role will work across four main ecommerce websites/channels.
Paid Media Management
Manage and optimise paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Performance Max, Google Shopping, Meta and remarketing platforms. You'll be responsible for campaign setup and optimisation, budget management, audience and keyword targeting, ad testing, product targeting, spend allocation and ROAS performance.
Monitor campaign performance closely, making data-driven recommendations to maximise return on ad spend and ensure investment supports the business's commercial priorities.
Google Shopping & Product Feed Management
Manage and optimise product feeds across Google Shopping, Meta and Merchant Center, ensuring product data, pricing, images, availability and categorisation are accurate. Resolve feed errors and improve data quality to maximise campaign performance and minimise wasted spend.
Campaign Execution
Plan and deliver paid media campaigns for product launches, promotions and seasonal trading. Working closely with the Sales & Commercial team, you'll ensure campaigns align with product priorities, stock levels, margins, promotional messaging and business objectives.
Reporting & Performance Insights
Produce clear weekly and monthly reports covering spend, revenue, ROAS, conversions, campaign performance and key improvement opportunities. Analyse results, identify trends, highlight wasted spend and provide practical recommendations to improve performance and maximise return on investment.
Tracking & Analytics
Monitor Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta tracking, Merchant Center and conversion tracking to ensure accurate performance reporting. Identify tracking or data issues and work with internal teams or external partners to resolve them, ensuring reliable reporting and attribution.
Website & Landing Page Optimisation
Work with internal teams and external partners to identify website and landing page improvements that enhance campaign performance, including content, messaging, user journey, calls to action and conversion optimisation. You'll provide performance-led recommendations while website ownership remains with the commercial team.
Agency & Partner Management
Manage relationships with agencies and digital partners by reviewing performance, challenging recommendations, ensuring actions are delivered and helping bring greater control of paid media in-house over time.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing Google Ads, Meta, Google Shopping and Performance Max campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of Google Merchant Center, product feed optimisation and ecommerce performance metrics.
- Experience managing budgets, improving ROAS and reducing wasted spend.
- Ability to analyse campaign performance and translate data into commercial actions.
- Experience with Google Analytics, tracking and conversion reporting.
- Strong reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing agencies or external digital partners.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working across multiple brands and websites.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to plan, execute and continuously improve performance.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in ecommerce or retail.
- Knowledge of Shopify, WooCommerce or similar platforms.
- Experience with affiliate marketing, email marketing and SEO.
- Proficiency in Google Analytics.
- Experience improving landing pages and website performance.
- Experience working across multiple brands or ecommerce websites.
Key Working Relationships
You'll work closely with the Sales & Commercial team, website and marketplace managers, creative, production and finance teams, as well as external agencies, developers and digital partners.
Success Measures
Success will be measured by improved paid media performance through higher ROAS, reduced wasted spend, stronger product feed quality, faster campaign delivery and more accurate reporting. You'll also improve alignment between advertising and commercial priorities while reducing reliance on external agencies.
First 90 Days
In your first 90 days, you'll audit our paid media accounts, product feeds and tracking, identify quick-win opportunities, improve reporting, optimise campaign performance across our four ecommerce brands, and assess where external agency support remains necessary.
The Opportunity
This role is key to bringing paid media management in-house, improving control, accountability and commercial performance. Working alongside the Sales & Commercial team, you'll ensure digital advertising supports business priorities while maximising the return on every advertising pound spent.
